More than 680 exhibitors are expected to participate in the 2015 edition of the in-cosmetics tradeshow, which will be held in Barcelona on 14-16 April at the Gran Via Exhibition Centre. The leading event dedicated to cosmetic ingredients will celebrate its 25th anniversary on this occasion.
“Over the last quarter of a century the beauty and personal care industry has grown from strength to strength, and is now worth more than $454 billion in retail sales according to Euromonitor - more than double its $211 billion worth in 1999. During this time in-cosmetics has expanded in importance and in size, having grown ten fold since its inception in 1990. The show has always adapted to changes across sectors and today in-cosmetics reflects the entirety of the industry,” said the organizers.
Turkey & Middle East focus
After Brazil in 2014, the next edition will put a special emphasis on Turkey and Middle East markets. A dedicated pavilion will house exhibitors from the region, while presentations will shine a light on the vast business opportunities this rapidly evolving market holds, including updates on marketing, regulatory and scientific issues.
As per previous years, visitors can book onto scientific and regulatory workshops. These half-day sessions will cover topics such as regulatory updates and compliance, suncare and electro-magnetic radiation, and delivery systems. Free Marketing Trends Presentations also provide updates on key trends, while visitors can hear directly from exhibitors in the Innovation Seminars, which features over 80 hours of presentations on the industry’s latest ingredients, product launches and technologies.
The Innovation Zone will provide visitors with a snapshot on ingredient and product launches made in the six months leading up to the show.
Dedicated exhibition areas
The organizers are carrying on their efforts to create thematic areas and the ‘Testing & Regulation’ and ‘Fragrance in Cosmetics’ Zones are set to be bigger than ever before in 2015.
An awards ceremony celebrating the industry’s finest takes place on day one. Winners will be announced for the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award and Green Ingredient Award, as well as a new award to celebrate 25 years of innovation. The Beiersdorf Innovation Pitch, which was created this year returns for the next edition with the manufacturing giant selecting three winners exhibitors at the show.
