International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) announced plans to build a new scent creative center in Mumbai, India. The site, strategically located in the city’s Powai neighborhood, is expected to be fully operational by the first half of 2026.
With this new creative center, IFF seeks to reinforce its capacity to attract and serve customers in the perfume sector, amid sustained growth in the Indian market.
According to Ana Paula Teles de Mendonça, president of IFF Scent, India is “one of the world’s most dynamic markets.” She highlights that by extending IFF’s footprint in India, the new Creative Center will bring the company’s closer to local consumers, accelerating its co-creation capabilities in fragrances, and bringing “greater agility”.
This expansion more than doubles the company’s local footprint to 3,650 square meters. The modern, technology-enabled facility will house more than 100 employees and feature advanced labs, category-spanning evaluation booths, and a state-of-the-art sensory evaluation space.
Beyond innovation, the site will be crafted to inspire, offering unique spaces that foster creativity and provide an environment of comfort and excellence.
“India’s fragrance market is evolving at an extraordinary pace — driven by rising aspirations, a love for premium experiences and a desire for scents that reflect individuality and emotion,” said Ramon Brentan, vice president and regional general manager of IFF Scent for Greater Asia. “Our new Mumbai creative center is more than a facility; it’s a space where creativity meets science to craft fragrances that inspire confidence, spark joy and build lasting memories.”
