The opening ceremony for the fourth China HCP plant was held in Luzhi County, Suzhou, China on May 7th. Around fifty persons participated in the event, including employee representatives from both the Shanghai and Suzhou plants, as well as Steve Schneider, the Chairman of HCP Board, and Eddy Wu, CEO of HCP, a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of prestige primary packaging containers for the cosmetics, skincare and fragrance industries.

HCP Suzhou’s new plant has taken shape after a five-month construction period. The new plant, Suzhou No.2, is located at No 66 Ji Chang Road, about three minutes drive away from the original Suzhou No.1 plant. The new factory boasts two buildings with a total 12,000 sqm.

According to Steve Schneider, with the new platform offered by Suzhou No.2, HCP can better serve the customers in aspects such as delivery, quality and quick-response times. He also emphasised that ’growth’ and ’technology’ will be the key competitive edges for HCP’s future.

After the full completion planned in Oct 2014, Suzhou No.2 will have a full spectrum of production capability including; injection, coating, metallisation, printing, final assembly and quality lab/testing. The site also includes a lean manufacturing concept, automation and improved dust control.
