Maurizio Volpi, President Fragrance Division at Givaudan

Givaudan will invest CHF 20 million (about EUR 17.5 million) in Expressions Parfumées’ facilities in Grasse. The flavours and fragrances giant announced the acquisition of the French company at the end of 2017 and finalized the transaction last June.

The aim of the investment is to expand and modernise Expressions Parfumées’ research and development laboratories as well as the company’s production facilities with new robotics and digitalisation of operations.

According to Givaudan, the operation aims at supporting the strong growth ambitions with local and regional customers as well as expanding the NATCO® range of fully natural fragrance compounds. The expansion is expected to be completed in the first half of 2020.

A quarter after the closing of the acquisition, Expressions Parfumées is already achieving very promising results. Investing in this company shows Givaudan’s commitment to reinforce its capabilities in Grasse for future growth, particularly with local and regional customers, while sustaining its strong reputation of having state of the art customer service and know-how in ‘made in France’ fragrance design,” said Maurizio Volpi, President Fragrance Division.
