The Swiss group Givaudan is committing 55 million Swiss francs (more than 60 million euros) to establish a new R&D and production hub in Grasse dedicated to natural perfumery ingredients.

Branded “Campus 52”, the site is a cornerstone of the House of Naturals strategy, designed to strengthen Givaudan’s ambition to rank among the global leaders in natural perfumery ingredients.

Built on four pillars – Agronomy, Innovation, Operations, and Perfumers – the centre will house a production facility and an innovation laboratory. It is aimed at fostering close collaboration between scientists and partners, while boosting perfumers’ inspiration. Ultimately, Givaudan’s sites in Mouans Sartoux and Vallauris will be grouped together in Grasse.

The new campus will host development and production capabilities designed to deliver exclusive, high quality natural ingredients. Givaudan’s perfumers are at the heart of fragrance creation, and ‘Campus 52’ will enrich their palette with even more exceptional natural ingredients, to craft the best fragrances of tomorrow,” said Xavier Renard, Global Head of Fine Fragrance at Givaudan.

When unveiling the project in 2024, Givaudan told Premium Beauty News that its ambition was to “deliver the highest-quality natural ingredients” to its perfumers. According to the Swiss group, this will rely primarily on innovation, both in agronomy and in extraction technologies.
