The American group has completed the divestment of its feminine hygiene business, as announced in November 2025. The assets sold include the Carefree, Stayfree, and o.b. brands in North America and the Playtex brand globally. Essity, the Swedish buyer, acquired the business for USD 340 million.
Edgewell, which owns brands including Schick, Wilkinson Sword, Personna, Edge, Skintimate, Billie, Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, Wet Ones, Jack Black, Bulldog and Cremo, said it plans to use the proceeds from the sale to strengthen its balance sheet and reduce debt, while continuing to invest in the long-term growth of its core business.
"By simplifying our portfolio and focusing our resources on shave, sun and skin care, and grooming, we are positioning Edgewell to be a more focused, agile and durable personal care company," said Edgewell President and CEO Rod Little.
Edgewell expects to work closely with Essity to ensure a smooth transition. The two companies have entered into a service agreement to facilitate the handover for a period of at least one year.
