On the occasion of the Luxe Pack tradeshow - which will take place in Monaco on October 21-23, 2015 - will launch the new grade DuPont Surlyn PC-2200.

The development of this new material by DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers fits in the desire to offer brands even more freedom in the design of packaging and to therefore push the limits of creativity. Indeed, this new grade brings together all the exceptional properties of Surlyn® - crystalline transparency, high gloss, chemical resistance, excellent resistance to scratches and abrasion, a pleasant touch - while proving easier to implement. DuPont opens new opportunities to designers who may possibly have been hindered in the design of their packaging by technical implementation constraints,” says the company.

Surlyn PC-2200 is also designed to expand the range of over-moulded decorative effects available such as the inclusion of textile decoration, metallic labels and other decorative technologies.

Furthermore, DuPont also introduced portfolio of polyesters including DuPont Crastin PBT and renewably sourced DuPont Sorona EP PTT, both compliant with European and US cosmetics and food-contact regulations. These high-performance plastics, offered as alternatives to current cosmetics packaging solutions, can provide beautiful aesthetics and excellent mechanical properties in contact with cosmetics formulations. In addition to its superior mechanical and aesthetic performance, DuPont Sorona EP, provides additional environmental benefits as it contains up to 37 per cent bio-based ingredients.
