Cosmoprof Asia, which opened its doors today in Hong Kong, will be held in 2016 on a much larger area.
To achieve this goal, the show’s organizers adapted the concept “One country, Two systems” that former Chinese President Deng Xiaoping applied to Hong Kong, by inventing the “One fair, Two venues” concept.
Next year, the event will therefore be held simultaneously in two different venues. Indeed, the 60,000 sqm Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centres (HKCEC) will be completed by a 28,000 sqm new surface at Asia World Expo (AWE), close to Hong Kong’s airport.
“Our aim is to accommodate the strong demand of exhibition space and to offer a wider range of novelties and trends to the beauty world. A new distribution of the show floor will allow the presence of more and better qualified companies and an easier attendance,” said Ducio Compagnoli, president groupe Bologna Fiere et de Cosmoprof Asia Limited.
Actually, in response to the increasing competition from China Beauty Expo, which is held annually in Shanghai, Cosmoprof Asia wants to keep its leadership in the Asia-Pacific area. By moving a part of the exhibitors to a second venue, the organizers gain the opportunity to answer positively to additional exhibiting applications but also to open their door to two new sectors: ingredients and machinery.
In 2016, all the supply-side (packaging, contract manufacturers, OEM and private label, ingredients, machinery and equipment) will therefore be located at Asia World Expo, while the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host finished products and beauty salons.
In order to maintain the synergies between finished products and suppliers, the opening of the two venues will differ slightly: Cosmoprof Asia 2016 will be held from 15th to 17th November at Asia World Expo and from 16th to 18th November at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition. Cosmoprof Asia organisers also insist on the fact that Asia World Expo is only 35 minutes from the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition, with frequent connections by train, metro and bus, and that a specially shuttle service will be arranged so to allow visitors and exhibitors to easily circulate from one area to the other.
