China: SFDA approves two new cosmetic ingredients

After a long public consultation period China’s State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) recently approved two new cosmetic ingredients:

  • PM-Lysine (INCI name: Polymethacryloyl Lysine, CAS: 543700-70-5), and,

  • Nivitol (INCI name: Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol, CAS: 869743-37-3).

These substances are the first to be approved by the SFDA since the agency took over responsibilities of approving new cosmetic ingredients from the Ministry of Health in 2008.
