Chemyunion Inc. has announced the appointment of Marilyn Villanueva and Erik Gutmann. The US subsidiary of the Brazilian-based supplier of cosmetic ingredients is strengthening the R&D team at their recently opened Creation Center.

Marilyn Villanueva is joining Chemyunion Inc. as Senior Application Lab Chemist - West Coast region, where the new Chemyunion Creation Center is located.

Marilyn Villanuea has been in the Personal Care industry for over 15 years and has experience in formulating for skin/color and hair care. During her previous work experience she was in the application lab for a well-known US contract manufacture, as well for raw material suppliers. Her role will include analyzing the US market needs and trends, providing prototypes, handling customer projects and trouble shooting. She joined Chemyunion in November 2020, during the unknown COVID times but was able to receive a 2-month intensive training program at our Brazilian head-quarters.

Also, Erik Gutmann is joining Chemyunion as a Technical Sales Manager for the west coast and is based in the Los Angeles area.

Erik Gutmann has over 20 years of experience working in the cosmetic industry. He started in R&D formulation at Aveda/Estee Lauder Companies for over 10 years and launched many products on the market. The next move was to start an applications lab for a distributor (Omya) in California for approximately 4 years. He then finished his MBA degree and started in account management at Seppic for over 4 years working with customers on both the east and west coast.
