The Canadian Cosmetic Cluster has launched the inaugural Canadian Cosmetic Cluster Awards, an international program designed to recognize innovation across the beauty industry while providing winners with practical support to accelerate their development.
Conceived and developed by Margarita Sidorova, Founder and President of the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster, alongside Mary Orlando and Frank Turco, the awards aim to go beyond traditional recognition. Winners will gain access to mentoring, consultations and strategic sessions with members of the judging panel and industry specialists in fields including cosmetic science, formulation, product development, retail, distribution, branding, artificial intelligence and marketing.
The initiative is designed to help companies address concrete business challenges, from preparing a brand for retail distribution to developing market-entry strategies for Canada or obtaining technical feedback on a new formulation.
Supporting independent brands
One of the program’s priorities is to increase the visibility of independent brands, emerging companies, smaller suppliers and entrepreneurs that may lack the marketing resources or established commercial networks of larger players.
Although Canadian innovation is central to the initiative, the awards are open to the international cosmetics community. They are also intended to help overseas companies explore the Canadian market and build relationships with local industry professionals.
The program further aims to provide value to all participants, with feedback on submissions intended to help entrants identify strengths and areas for improvement, regardless of whether they win.
The judging panel brings together expertise spanning formulation, cosmetic science, product development, distribution, retail, business strategy and branding, alongside artificial intelligence, data science and beauty communication.
Ten award categories
The inaugural program covers ten categories: Ingredient Innovation, Canadian Product Innovation, Global Product Innovation, Packaging Innovation, Sustainability Impact, Founder of the Year, Social Influencer / Beauty Science Communicator, Formulation Science & Technology Innovation, Brand Marketing Campaign and Best International Indie Brand.
The entry fee is CAD 250 per category.
Applications opened on September 8, 2026, and will close on October 30. Winners are scheduled to be announced on November 30, 2026.
