On April 3, concomitant to in-cosmetics Global, the Brazilian Embassy in Paris organized a panel discussion, in partnership with ABIHPEC (the Brazilian Association of the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Industry), to explain the details of the Brazilian law on biodiversity, its implementation and the opportunities it offers to the cosmetics industry.
In addition to Brazilian manufacturers of natural ingredients, several international beauty companies attended the event.
The participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Brazilian regulatory framework and understand how it allows the use of biodiversity by the cosmetics industry and encourages the sustainable use of natural resources.
A comparison with the legislations of other countries (Peru, India, South Africa) also made it possible to highlight the interest of the law 13.123 of May 20, 2015 in articulation with the Nagoya Protocol.
