Bobbi Brown spring makeup pops with Havana Brights

The American beauty brand has unveiled “Havana Brights,” its spring 2017 makeup collection inspired by the vibrant colours of the Cuban capital. Collection essentials will go on sale in Bobbi Brown stockists and online at www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com.

While most beauty brands have picked pastel shades or set bright hues against pastel pales for spring 2017, Bobbi Brown stands out from the crowd with an original collection of bold brights, directly inspired by Havana. The collection largely comprises coral shades and long-wear formulations, for colour that stays put throughout sunny springtime days.

Sunkissed glow

Skin is brightened this spring with two “Illuminating Cheek Palettes” (Peach or Guava), each containing three essential powder formulations for a naturally sunkissed and brightening effect. Each palette features three powder shades, with Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Bronzing Powder to reflect light, Blush for a hint of color and Highlighter to sculpt the face with a healthy glow.

Although eye colours are bright, the shades remain relatively natural. Bobbi Brown has revealed a duo version of the “Long-Wear Cream Shadow” stick, offering sweat- and water-resistant colour with two complementary shades in each combo. The duos can be used to create all kinds of custom looks for different times of day. Seasonal shades include “Peach Mimosa/Taupe,” “Truffle/Bronze,” “Greige/Midnight” and “Pink Sparkle/Heather Steel.”

Lip-smacking colour

Bobbi Brown has two options for lips this spring. First up, “Art Stick Liquid Lip” is a liquid lip colour pen for a bold look, available in three vibrant shades (limited edition Havana Coral, plus Pink Punch and Papaya) and with a semi-matte finish. For a more classic lip, the “Art Stick” pencil — available in Sunset Orange, Electric Pink and Brown Berry — brings colour while ensuring optimal hydration. It has a long-lasting formula that stays put on sunny days.

Victoria’s Secret or the failure of a conservative positioning?

When the Victoria’s Secret show was cancelled it didn’t come as a surprise. In May, it was reported by The New York Times that the show would no longer be broadcast on network television. “We must evolve and change to grow. With that in mind, we have decided to re-think the traditional Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show". From 2001 to 2018, (...)
