German skin care manufacturer Beiersdorf, which owns and markets brands such as Nivea, Eucerin, La Prairie and Labello, has announced investments of R$ 300 million in the expansion of its personal care products factory in Brazil.
The Nivea products have been available in the Brazilian market since the beginning of the 20th century and in 2003, Beiersdorf inaugurated its plant at Itatiba, state of São Paulo. As the one of the largest cosmetics market in the world, Brazil has been one of the countries where the Beiersdorf Group recorded the fastest growth in the last years.
"This investment reaffirms the importance of the country to the Group’s business as well as our vision for the future," said Christian Goetz, Beiersdorf’s representative in Brazil. A team is working on building the schedule details of the plant expansion that is expected to generate about 70 new positions by the end of 2019. "As part of our commitment to sustainability, the entire project planning and execution has been designed to ensure energy and water efficiency," added Christian Goetz.
