Fragrance is gaining momentum as a daily lifestyle category in Taiwan. According to Statista, Taiwan’s fragrance market is estimated at around TWD 20 billion (USD 632 million) and projected to grow at 6.4% CAGR [1] over the period 2025-2030.
Against this backdrop, Beautyworld Taipei 2026 will introduce Scent Taipei, a dedicated professional showcase for fragrance and scent aesthetics. For its very first edition, the special showcase is expected to gather over 20 domestic and international exhibitors and present 100+ unique products such as fine fragrance, essential oils, scented lifestyle products, and related applications.
Scent Taipei will be organised around four curated themes: Perfumer’s Storybook, Code of Scent, Island Notes, and Scents of the World. These concepts will spotlight cross-border scent aesthetics from Taiwan, Thailand, China and Scandinavian markets, supported by a dedicated Scent Library immersive experience zone.
The launch of Scent Taipei reflects a broader transformation in Taiwan’s beauty market. Department stores, which account for nearly 80% of personal fragrance distribution, are gradually losing share—particularly to specialty retailers, whose sales are being driven by the growing consumer interest in niche perfumes.
According to a joint research from CMRI Beauty Marketing Research and Beautyworld Taipei [2], Taiwan’s beauty and personal care market reached USD 6 billion in 2025, with a projected CAGR of 5% compound annual growth rate through 2030. While facial skincare and cosmetics remain the largest categories, growth momentum has shifted decisively toward body care, fragrance and hair segments.
Body care, in particular, emerged as a standout performer, expanding from 9.5% to 10.6% market share with 11.5% year-on-year growth – driven by consumer demand for sensory rituals, targeted treatments and wellness-infused routines. Fragrance recorded equally impressive 10.3% annual growth, signalling scent’s evolution from occasional luxury to daily lifestyle essential.
“Taiwan’s USD 6 billion beauty market stands apart for its consumer sophistication and appetite for innovation. This year’s survey confirms a decisive pivot toward full-body beauty – integrating fragrance, body care and wellness into daily routines,” commented Ms Regina Tsai, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Taiwan Branch, the company behind the event.
Beyond this launch, the heart of the show obviously remains dedicated to skincare and aesthetic treatments. This year’s Beautyworld Taipei will feature an expanded Medical Aesthetics Industry Innovation Pavillion alongside the inaugural Medical & Aesthetics Forum. Exosomes, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) technologies, as well as energy-based facial and body devices will be among the key highlights of the sessions.
