It is a butterfly that BCM, the manufacturing subsidiary of Alliance Boots, chose as its logo, a butterfly whose wings (blue for skincare, purple for make-up) are connected to the past and open up overseas.

"We decided to communicate more about our service offer, which is more global, definitely European, including the know-how of the BCM plants in Germany and U.K.", revealed Marie-Christine Clerc, Sales and Marketing director of BCM Cosmétique.

The contractor is actually one of the European leaders with three plants (more than 60,000 m²) and 2,500 employees for a turnover of EUR 285 million. A well distributed activity to offer a truly European service: thus make-up concerns in a complementary manner, BCM in France (coloured emulsions) and in Germany (powders) and skincare with BCM France and U.K.

In France, the activity, 25% of which concerns products of the Boots group, is doing well. The plant in Vitré (Brittany), that employs more than 500 employees, can boast having recruited some thirty people since October 2010. Among them, Philippe de Lamare, a packaging engineer, who was hired to reinforce the company’s full service offer. Also in 2010, the plant has benefited from major investments including a 2-ton vessel for the manufacture of mascaras, it is equipped with a cleaning system that allows to save water. Because both, environmental and industrial concerns are not incompatible.
