The AptarGroup, a supplier of packaging solutions for the beauty and personal care industry, announced a reorganisation of its production flows after a fire destroyed one of the three anodization production units of its factory in Annecy, France on June 25.

The fire broke out during the night and was contained by a hundred firefighters. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Aptar Annecy supplies anodized aluminium components for certain AptarGroup dispensing systems.

The stamping workshop, which was not affected by the fire, is fully operational and all Aptar’s teams are mobilized for a restart of the anodizing lines by the end of July, except for the line that was destroyed by the fire,” said the supplier.

The storage building containing dangerous products and located close to the damaged production unit was fully and safely protected from the fire.

While repairs are underway, AptarGroup will source from its network of suppliers as well as from its anodizing facility in Brazil.
