The manufacturing facilities of Neossance Squalane and Noessance Hemisqualane, a range of cosmetic botanical emollients derived from sugar cane, have achieved certification by the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) standard on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cosmetics [1].

Developed by Amyris, a US headquartered bioscience company, Neossance Squalane and Noessance Hemisqualane are manufactured by the company’s industrial partner Glycotech Inc. “This certification of the Glycotech facility, granted on July 2, 2015, enables Amyris’s B2B and B2C cosmetics businesses to more readily access high potential markets,” said the US company in a release. “Today, over 440 brands incorporate Amyris’s high-performance cosmetic ingredients into their own products. Having received certification, Amyris believes its addressable cosmetic growth opportunities are now significantly broadened, particularly in instances where ISO 22716 enables increased market access to new customers.
