Albéa, a global supplier of packaging solutions for the make-up, skin care, perfumery and oral hygiene sectors, has announced the acquisition of the company Zhongshan Meiquan Plastic Products Co Ltd belonging to the TEX R.L. group. Better known under the name TEX China, the company manufactures packaging for the cosmetics and perfumery sectors. Located in the Guangdong Province, TEX China has 700 employees and 3 factories specializing in the production of mascara, lip gloss, lipstick, pots and cases, etc. In 2011 the company recorded a turnover of 20 million dollars, of which 80% came from exports.

Albéa acquires TEX China

With its 5 production sites throughout China and a sales office in Shanghai, Albéa is significantly strengthening its presence on the Chinese market, with the aim to position itself as a key supplier in Asia.

"The acquisition of Tex China and its attractive portfolio of standard solutions have allowed Albéa to consolidate its global product offer. We also have a local innovation and development team, a necessary tool if we want to penetrate the fast-growing Chinese market," explained François Luscan, President & CEO of Albéa.

With this purchase, Albéa can also offer new expertise on Chinese territory to its international customers. For instance, technologies such as metallization and varnishing are now available in the decoration and finishing sector.

As part of this desire to acquire additional expertise, Albéa is adding a mould-manufacturing workshop from Tex China. This great value added at a global level for the group will enable it to develop its own industrial moulds.

With this latest acquisition, Albéa now has 10,200 employees and 36 sites across 13 countries.
