Weleda, the Swiss expert in natural and organic cosmetics, has trusted in Mega Airless to create the packaging for its body lotions since 2012.

Before that, the brand’s body care products were housed in glass bottles. Concerned about preserving the environment and improving the performance of its packaging, Weleda opted for an airless solution. The advantages of this technology include ensuring better conservation of the formula, greater comfort of use for the consumer, and the possibility of using almost all the product, avoiding waste. In addition, the packaging is made of a single material – plastic – making it easy to recycle.

In order to reproduce the specific design of Weleda’s bottle, Mega Airless chose to partner with Gaplast, which designed the bespoke mold with which it associated its “Bag in Bottle” [1] technology, which can be adapted to the specific shape of the bottle.

Mega Airless developed the cap, a bespoke push button actuator and the airless pump, which guarantees that no air enters to container as the product is dispensed. Today, both the bottle and pump are manufactured by Mega Airless.

Weleda offers six references in its body lotion line: Sea Buckthorn, Pomegranate, Wild Rose, Evening Primrose and now organic Almond, launched in May, with protecting and soothing qualities. The products are all certified by international label NaTrue.
