SGD has completed the demerger of its perfumery and pharmacy businesses on January 1st, 2016 and the two have begun operating as separate legal entities. SGD Perfumery is now an independent company supplying the major brands in the perfumery and cosmetics industry. The company currently employs 3200 people all over the world and manufactures, on average, more than 1 billion bottles every year.

Previously in charge of the European and North American businesses, Thomas Riou is the new CEO of SGD Perfumery

As part of this process, SGD Perfumery, the global leader in the glassmaking industry for the perfumery and cosmetics markets, has announced the promotion of Thomas Riou as CEO and Hélène Marchand as General Manager in France.

Ashok Sudan, CEO of SGD Group prior to the demerger, will move into the role of Executive Chairman of the SGD Perfumery business and provide continuity and strategic direction to the business.

Thomas Riou, who was previously in charge of the European and North American businesses will become the new perfumery company’s CEO and will be responsible to manage the company’s global business including its subsidiaries in Europe, USA and Brazil. “Thomas has been with SGD for the past four years and led, during this period, a significant and successful turn-around of the business in Europe and North America,” says the company in a release.

Hélène Marchand is promoted to General Manager, France, of the newly formed SGD Perfumery entity.
