Spanish fragrance group Perfumes y Diseño (PyD) is broadening its horizons with its first move into the skincare sector. The family-owned company has acquired a majority stake in Twelve Beauty, a Spanish brand founded in 2012 by pharmacist Pedro Catalá.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“This move not only expands our brand portfolio, but also marks the beginning of a new chapter: we are entering the world of conscious beauty, with a firm commitment to responsible innovation and international growth,” said PyD in a LinkedIn post.
“Through Twelve Beauty, we reaffirm our dedication to ingredient purity, advanced dermatological science, and sustainability. Thanks to its production model — combining rigorous research with deep respect for nature—the brand has become a benchmark among consumers and dermatological experts worldwide,” the company added.
Twelve Beauty’s skincare line is formulated with botanical active ingredients sourced from organic farming or biotechnology. The products feature a natural fragrance derived from floral extracts and trace amounts of essential oils. The brand relies exclusively on natural emulsifiers.
Twelve Beauty is available in Spain and has an international footprint through distributors in markets such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, France, the UK, and the US, complemented by its global online sales channel.
Controlled by the Trólez family, PyD owns brands such as Tous, Bimba y Lola, and Scalpers.
