A perfume museum will open in Paris in the former headquarters of Christian Lacroix, 73 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

The four-story, 15,555 square-foot (1.400 m2) building will play host to Le Grand Musée du Parfum, which is expected to open in December of this year. The museum will highlight three phases of the history of perfume, from the time of the pharaohs in Egypt up to modern day. Visitors will also be able to discover a fragrance collection holding more than 60 scents.

Le Grand Musée du Parfum - backed by the city, the Île-de-France region and the fragrance industry - will include a bookstore and a concept store.

Le Grand Musée du Parfum is an initiative of the fragrance industry, including Syndicat Français de la Parfumerie (SFP) and International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF)
