Pascual, a French subcontractor and private labeller, located in the East of Paris region, is a newcomer in the full service business for makeup products. However, its cosmetics division, founded in 2010, is already making a buzz.

"After several months of intensive and coordinated work between the R&D, technical department and a raw material supplier, we achieved the industrialization of both a transparent lipstick and a green gloss," explains Simon Pascual, owner and manager of the company.

Transparent lipstick

The transparent lipstick is available in several colours, can be with or without glitters, and with or without added fragrance. Pascual claims its product is highly moisturizing and has sun protection factor of 15. The product was showcased for the first time at the third edition of the MakeUp in Paris tradeshow,on June 21 and 22.

So far, only a few transparent lipsticks have been marketed already, but Pascual’s product enjoys the advantage of a particularly smooth texture, while being robust and difficult to break. In order to add a playful feature to the product, Pascual has inserted in the packaging a device illuminating the stick when used.

"The many people who tried it during their visit to our booth, including representatives from major brands, were unanimous in their comments. The product is considered as very pleasant, with a beautiful shine and a beautiful look," adds Simon Pascual.

As a result, negotiations are already underway with several brands to put the product in the market. So, stay tuned!

Non-sticky gloss

The other innovation presented by Pascual at the MakeUp in Paris show, was a so-called “gloss green” that has been very successful too. The product boasts a wet and moisturizing effect, but more importantly, it does not stick, unlike other glosses on the market. "In short, that is the end of the unpleasantness of hair sticking to the lip. Once again, professional visitors who tested it, had the opportunity to get confirmation these claims are fully substantiated."

Icing on the cake: half of the ingredients in the product com from a natural origin.

Continued investment

For two years, Pascual has been investing about 1 million euros in its equipment, with an annual capacity of 12 million lipsticks, and 5 million cups of heated and moulded products. The company does not intend to stop now and is launching a new nail polish filling business, which will be operational starting October 2012, with a capacity of 15 million products per year.
