As planned Rusi, the German firm based in Bechhofen near Nuremberg (18 million euros in turnover in 2011 for a total staff of 260) inaugurated its new 2,500 sqm (27,000 sq. ft.) building, which is complementing the existing building of 6,500 sqm (70,000 sq. ft.). The main objective being to increase by 15% the production capacity for mascara, lip gloss and eyeliners which currently represents about fifty million units per year, but to also start a lacquering line with an annual capacity of 15 to 20 million units. The capacity increase in decoration (hot stamping, screen printing, pad printing, etc.] will be of about 30% (20% from the recovery of the industrial tool of Sun Creative Cosmetics and 10% with some investments in new equipments).

Refocusing on lipstick

"Two years after its acquisition by the Rusi group, we were explained by officials in Bechhofen, the former Schmidt & Niedermeier company which became Sun Creative Cosmetics, clearly achieved its objectives in terms of development of market potentials and of profitability thanks to a refocusing on its core business, namely, the development, manufacture and marketing of plastic-made and metal-made lipstick tubes, but also thanks to the optimization of the range of lipstick tubes, the creation of a forming platform and some investments in new moulds.
