Damien Dufresne

"Sometimes i hear people say i am an artist and I find that it’s a much to big word for me". Actually, Damien Dufresne prefers saying he is a craftsman. A craftsman is someone who works with his hands, he says, and it also involves passion.

Today what is particularly close to his heart, is to work to the global design of a make-up range, collaborate with laboratories to the development of colours, of new materials and textures, to use the creative and pioneering side of his studio experience, and use his knowledge of the needs of the "woman in the street" to adapt it to daily make-up.

On June 21st, at the Carrousel du Louvre, the performance of Damien Dufresne will be one of the highlights of the next MakeUp in Paris. He will talk of his work using his experience and his professional background, on the theme of "the intimate combination of photography and make-up"

"I am convinced that showing one or more make-up creations is not enough," he explains. "We have to show that studio shooting is a teamwork, a team that consists of a hairdresser, a make-up artist, a stylist, a model, a photographer and sometimes an art director. It will not intend to be a training course or a lesson and even less the performance of a make-up artist, a photographer or a retoucher, but of the complementary work of the three!"

Not to be missed!

MakeUp in Paris will be held on June 21st and 22th, 2012 at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France.
