On Saturday 6th April 2013, at the Prefecture of Tulle (Corrèze), the French President François Hollande personally presented the «Croix de Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur» to Jean Paufique, president and founder of the Silab Company.

« This ‘Légion d’honneur’ is for me a true recognition of the results obtained during a long career in the service of my country. Silab is simply the culmination of a human, scientific and technological adventure of 30 years, which has been successful because it is based on strong values of independence, excellence and quality, with a focus on humanism. I am of course very proud to dedicate it to all those who have accompanied me on an exceptional human adventure, » said Jean Paufique.

Jean Paufique, agronomist engineer and biologist, began his career in child nutrition and contributed greatly to its rapid expansion. ‘Inventor-developer’ of baby food, he joined BSN - Gervais Danone as Director of Research for infant nutrition and diversification before creating and directing, still for the BSN group, the ‘CREALIS’ research center in Brive-la-Gaillarde (Corrèze, France).

After 14 years dedicated to child nutrition, Jean Paufique took up the challenge of creating Silab, a company based in Corrèze, to apply to the field of dermo-cosmetics the extraordinary scientific advances of modern biology. Silab develops, produces and markets effective and innovative natural active ingredients for the global cosmetic industry. Nearly 30 years after its creation, Jean Paufique continues to actively lead the development of the company. He also created the Silab - Jean Paufique Corporate Foundation, which intends to fund fundamental research in the field of skin cancer.
