Indie Beauty Expo: Third edition highlights

Last week, the Indie Beauty Expo returned to New York for their third edition at Clarkson Skylight, with over 220 exhibitors (full list here). Among the highlights was the confluence of high-design eco-luxury brands with key natural ingredients and new concepts. Here is a quick focus of some of the ones which really stand out:

Fizz & Bubble bath time treats are the only handmade confections created with a decadent combination of 8 Natural Oils. They’re packed with healing properties that leave your skin smooth, supple, relaxed and restored! From Fizzies to Cupcakes to Milkshakes and more, they created a pretty sweet array of luxurious bath and shower treats. Experience fun and frothy bathtub bubbles, effervescent fizz, sweet and softening sugar scrubs, restoring body washes or scent-sational salts great for morning, noon and night!

Girl Undiscovered - New Zealand made skincare and 100% wild - offered Balinese coconut oil-infused skin care from New Zealand. The Stumbled Across Paradise face mask (120 ml; $33) features thanka from Burma, coconut oil and wild kanuka honey to polish, plump, soothe and moisturize the skin. The Stars Aligning Elixir Oil (50 ml; $48) comprises coconut oil, thanaka, kanuka honey, calendula, bergamot oil, argan and raspberry seed oil, and camellia oil. The elixir reportedly offers antibacterial and antioxidant protection, calming and lifting properties, and moisturization.

Makeup America! is the first American-branded premium colour cosmetics company with a unique social purpose: paying down the U.S. national debt. The patriotic themed products are long wearing, and exude the American Spirit by being cruelty free, paraben-free, non-GMO, and suitable for all skin tones. Consistent with America’s tradition of community service that calls upon us to solve our nation’s problems, Makeup America’s motto is “Do Good Look Great” because the brand will contribute $1 of every product sold toward paying down the U.S. national debt.

Pour Moi, a climate-designed skin care brand, debuted at the Indie Beauty Expo. The Day Creams comprise Climate Energized Beautifiers, which reportedly respond to climatic, geographic and seasonal changes.
