The organisers of in-cosmetics have announced details of a new award set to debut at this year’s show in Hamburg, Germany.

Launched in association with market research firm Organic Monitor, the Green Ingredient Award will honour a raw material or ingredient that has made a significant environmental or social difference in the area of sustainability within the cosmetics industry.

The award celebrates the cosmetics industry’s continued efforts to build a more sustainable future,” the organisers highlight.

To be eligible the ingredient or material must have been launched within the last three years and currently be used in a cosmetic product. Entrants will also have to prove the positive environmental or social difference that the material or ingredient has made.

With sustainability such a global issue, we feel it is very important to celebrate the positive work being done by companies within the industry,” said Cathy Laporte, Exhibition Manager for the show. “The industry as a whole is dedicated to becoming more sustainable and we’re delighted that Organic Monitor has partnered with us to highlight the work being done to achieve this,” she added.

Interested exhibitors must return the award application form by the 3rd of March, which can be accessed at: www.in-cosmetics.com/en/whatson/AwardCeremony/

The winner of the Green Ingredient Award will be announced at the in-cosmetics Award Ceremony on Wednesday 2nd April 2014.
