Cosfibel, a supplier of packaging and merchandising solutions, is mobilising itself around Solidarity Sourcing®. “The company has committed itself to fully integrating this concept into its global sourcing strategy,” explains Laura Moore, who was recruited two months ago at the Cosfibel’s Shenzhen office to develop and implement Solidarity Sourcing® programs in China.
“Solidarity Sourcing® is a new and innovative purchasing method seeking new types of suppliers. These suppliers are aware that their business practices will affect their surrounding community and they have therefore taken active steps to ensure that their effect is a positive one,” details Laura Moore. The main purpose of Solidarity Sourcing® is to ensure that economically vulnerable people, such has disabled people [1], have a fair access to job opportunities.
“From now on, when Cosfibel cooperates with suppliers, it will seek those who promote this sort of social inclusion.”
