According to Peter Staartjes, President Brenntag Latin America, the acquisition of Amco Internacional will strengthen Brenntag’s position in the region thanks to a sophisticated portfolio of specialty products and services. “The cross selling synergies of Brenntag products to Amco customers is an important aspect for the future strategy in this market,” he added.

Amco Internacional, a family owned business, is an experienced flavours and fragrances raw materials distributor in Latin America, with nearly 30 years of experience in the business. Amco currently sells most of its specialty chemicals under its own brand name and specifications.

Ricardo Amper, current Managing Director of Amco Internacional will continue to lead the operational business of the company that generated sales of about 20.2 million US dollars in 2011.
