Premium Beauty News - For many companies in the plastic industry, times are tough. How do you cope with the current situation?

Michel Cochet With our main partner Pibiplast, plastic bottles, the beginning of the year was still positive in particular with the launch of the new range of PET bottles and service caps in PP manufactured by the Uriage Laboratory very active in the pharmaceutical sector.
We have also worked on a new reference for Sephora to design a new 200 ml PET bottle for shampoo with a identified hinged cap.

These are the 2 exclusive projects that were finished, all the other specific studies were postponed to 2010 or 2011.

Activity on standard products is doing quite well and since June, we have noticed very high demand in order to condition bactericidal gels, the production of which is increasing to meet demand related to influenza A, H1N1. We are eager to attend the Luxe Pack show in Monaco to see what the trends are on the brand owners’ side.

Premium Beauty News - Industrial choices that your company has made in the past are now completely impacting your activity. We are refering to your implantation in Dubai. Can you tell us more about this tool and its assets?

Michel Cochet - Yes, we have concluded a trade agreement since 2 years, with a new partner in the injection field in the perfumery sector. This plant based in the Emirates transforms mainly Surlyn (caps) and PP (caps and collars).

The great advantage is that the factory is equipped with UV metallization, which means our customers can choose between a part, completely dressed, silk-screened or even pad-printed. This structure supplies mainly customers from the Persian Gulf, but also Europe. Our clients include: Parfums Benetton, Ajmal , Frédéric M, Arno Sorel , SODIP, Corania, Diamond Parfums, etc.

With exclusive but also standard models the start range comprising 10 caps was completed this year with 4 new models: the "canot", the "valentine", "the king" and the "bombay".

For 2010, 4 new models are planned.

Due to a strong slowdown in the perfumery sector, the offer for standard caps, displayed on our new website, helps a little to balance the activity which is nonetheless reduced.

Hoping for a recovery in June 2010!
