“We expect a good turnout for Cosmoprof Asia,” Aureliana De Sanctis, SoGeCos

Aureliana De Sanctis, CEO of SoGeCos, the company organising Cosmoprof shows, tells Premium Beauty News its optimism about the next edition of Cosmoprof Asia, which will be held in Hong Kong from November 11th to 13th, 2009. Following the success of Cosmoprof North America in July, Mrs De Sanctis also anticipate good results for the next edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna (Italy) in 2010.

Premium Beauty News - What are the perspectives for the next edition of Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong?

Aureliana De Sanctis - Cosmoprof Asia being the Asia Pacific leading beauty exhibition in the region the show represent the most important business meeting point in the year and also the most effective way to make multiple contacts with existing and potential customers in Asia. International group pavilions have confirmed participation such as France, one of the most important contingent of companies at the show, Germany, Italy, Spain, Israel, the UK, the USA, and new this year South Africa and Poland.

Upon completion of the expansion project, after two years of renovation, the Hong Kong Convention Centre will become more visitor-friendly and easy to navigate. All the categories represented will benefit from a customised visitors flow along the redesigned hall sectorization.

Premium Beauty News - The impact of the economic crisis seems to be lower in Asia than in other areas.

Aureliana De Sanctis - It is true. Despite the economic challenges affecting the global economies, the cosmetics market in Asia holds on and sales figures remain impressive. For this very reason we expect a good turnout for Cosmoprof Asia 2009 both in terms of exhibitors and visitors from the region.

Premium Beauty News - On the other hand, do you think that the year 2010 will be more difficult for your European business?

Aureliana De Sanctis - We think, and signals give us reason, that the year 2009 represented the heights of business’ slowdown in the beauty sector.

In reference to signals of optimism, they are supported by a positivity that Cosmoprof North America has tested. In fact, a strong business recovery was perceived during the manifestation. This is the advantage of being an international platform, allowing us to understand business trends in advance.

Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna (Italy) sustains this signal with 60% of spaces already confirmed seven months before the beginning of the fair. This fact underlines the importance of performing every years events that support the industry also in hard time.

Premium Beauty News - Could you tell us a few words about your new projects worldwide?

Aureliana De Sanctis - I can only anticipate we are working on very important partnership transactions and acquisitions of international and national realities that will contribute to the Cosmoprof’s capillarity in the world.
