IL Cosmetics, the most dynamic worldwide nail polish sub-contractor, continuously in growth, creates opportunity for talents that love working in beauty. We sell all around the world and have plants in Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Poland. We have a suitable opening within our R&D Team and are looking as soon as possible for the position of a:

R&D Manager, m/f, for our Make-Up department, Luxembourg

Your main mission is both to develop our makeup range and to ensure their industrial transposition. You integrate our R&D laboratory to optimize and industrialize our formulas, but also other cosmetic products. The goal is to diversify our cosmetic product portfolio and offer our customers high quality cosmetics.

More precisely, your scope of intervention will be:

- Propose research and development choices based on the needs of the company and the R & D strategy in terms of innovation.
- Provide a competitive and regulatory scientific watch.
- Set up the annual research planning according to the means available on new products or product adaptations, in order to meet the requests of the management and / or the marketing department.

Managing the research phases
- Participate in the first orientation meetings of the project with the services involved.
- Choose and contact, if necessary, the suppliers of raw materials.
- Define priorities in terms of equipment, supervise their installation and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate the work of researchers and formulation managers.
- Participate in drafting the specifications for a new product, a process or a modification of the formula.
- Supervise the redaction and the monitoring of tests.
- Ensure the patentability of ours products.
- Write or supervise publications in specialized journals.
- Participate in scientific events: congresses, conferences, etc.

Follow-up of the development phases
- Ensure the industrial feasibility of the product by participating in the launch of the production tests.
- Define, with the person in charge of industrial processes, the manufacturing processes in medium and large quantities of the product.
- Monitor the results of compatibility tests with the product packaging.
- Ensure that the marketing department takes into account the properties of the product in communication operations.

Management of the R & D team
- Distribute tasks and manage the schedule of laboratory researchers and technicians.
- Facilitate meetings with the various researchers to evaluate the progress of the research.
- Validate with them the main successes and obstacles encountered and arbitrate on solutions to put in place.
Management of the research budget and reporting
- Establish the projected budget according to the amount of investments planned by the company.
- Manage purchases of laboratory equipment.
- Present project status results.
- Adjust the project according to the results and choices of management.


- Graduated in chemistry (Bac +5) or PhD with a specialization in cosmetics.
- You have know-how in industrial processes and industrial transposition (from formulation to industrialization).
- You have a successful experience of at least 10 years in an R & D laboratory ideally acquired in the field of cosmetic subcontracting.
- You are fluent in French and English.
- You have a marketing culture.
- Your interpersonal skills and your organizational qualities characterize you. You have the concern of the detail and show patience
- Your analytical mind, your curiosity and your sense of innovation will allow you to succeed in this function.
