L’Oréal USA appoints its first-ever Chief Retail Officer

L’Oréal USA - the largest subsidiary of the French cosmetics giant - today announced the appointment of Marc-Alexandre Risch to the newly created position of Chief Retail Officer for L’Oréal USA. As part of this new role, Risch will be responsible for supporting the organization with retail operations leadership and knowledge, developing back-office retail operations solutions, systems and synergies across the company, and helping to establish seamless, omni-channel consumer experiences across L’Oréal USA’s brand portfolio.

With our retail operations growing rapidly across brands like Kiehl’s, NYX and Urban Decay, we’ve created this strategic role to continuously enhance our customer shopping experience,” said Frédéric Rozé, President and CEO, L’Oréal USA. “We’re lucky to have Marc-Alexandre, a talented leader and industry expert, to guide our retail expansion and implement best-in-class systems across the company.

Risch joined the L’Oréal Group in March 2005 as the International Project Manager for Garnier and ascended quickly with numerous leadership positions. In 2010, he joined Garnier International as Axis Director Fructis and took over the responsibilities of International Marketing Director for Garnier Haircare (Fructis, Ultra Doux /Ultra Blends). In 2012, he was appointed General Manager of The Body Shop Canada. Under Risch’s leadership, The Body Shop Canada has become one of the best performing markets for the brand, delivering strong and consistent growth. Along with his team, he successfully implemented a number of key initiatives, including a strategic focus on retail excellence and the transformation of the brand’s real estate portfolio.

L’Oréal USA manages a portfolio of more than 30 iconic beauty brands, including Carol’s Daughter, Clarisonic, Essie, Garnier, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Kérastase, Kiehl’s, Lancôme, L’Oréal Paris, Matrix, Maybelline New York, NYX, Redken, Urban Decay and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.
