Inveo, the new standard Roll-On deodorant launched by Promens

Plastic packaging designer and manufacturer Promens continues its research for all-inclusive standard solutions to meet market trends and consumers requirements and has added to its collection by developing a new inverted Roll-On named Inveo.

Promens is one of the largest players in the European roll-on market. Promens currently manufactures more than 170 million roll-on pieces per year and provides standard as well as custom-moulded ranges. Promens has acquired great experience and knowledge from supplying the market leaders of this market like Unilever and L’Oreal with customized Roll-Ons. In 2008, Promens launched the well-known inverted Roll-On for Unilever brands (Sure, Dove, Lynx, Axe, Rexona) and won 2 Starpack Awards [1] for this packaging: gold award in the category “component development” and silver award in the category “consumer product”.

It is highly difficult to develop a roll-on in three pieces that guarantees no leak. Today on the market, the standard inverted roll-ons have a big problem: they leak. With Inveo, Promens claims to have won this challenge and to have developed an inverted roll on with complete security. “The ball housing is the fourth piece of the roll-on made in 4 pieces. The Inveo’s ball housing is incorporated in the bottle and has been designed with sharp angled step to form a ball seal which stops leakage happening. Inveo is made in 3 pieces, making it more ecological and more economic,” the company explains in a release

Furthermore, the closure system being key for inverted roll-on, the closure has been conceived to obtain an optimized tightness. Thanks to the spigot inside the top of the cap which pushes the ball down onto the seal inside the bottle, no bulk product can escape from Inveo when it is closed.

Inveo has been conceived so that the consumer closes the cap with an audible click. This is a security: it means that the deodorant has been well closed and is tight.

Inverted trend

Since 2007, many brands have followed the inverted position trend established by Unilever and have launched inverted Roll-On deodorants.

Consumers are more and more in pursuit of convenient and efficient packaging. The upside down position of the inverted roll-on has a lot of advantages that meet these expectations: the formula is always in contact with the ball and therefore does not dry out. The restitution of the formula is better: it is ready to apply at the first rolling of the ball. Inverted roll-ons also offer a high evacuation rate and easy dispensing as the ball is located at the bottom of the bottle.

The design of the Inveo roll-on has been developed and approved using the Promens “Practical innovation process”. Thanks to a focus group, Promens was able to identify customers’ expectations concerning the shape, ergonomics, comfort of use and finishing aspect.

The symmetrical and domed shape makes it very comfortable for the hand, whether the user is right or left-handed. The matt finish meets the consumers expectations and fits into the deodorant market code,” the company explains.

Inveo is available in one standard size: 50ml.
