Celine is embarking on a new perfume line under the direction of Hedi Slimane. The LVMH-owned French fashion house teased the launch of a new ‘Haute Parfumerie’ collection on Instagram over the weekend, telling its 1.9 million followers: "15 years after the creation of Maison Christian Dior perfume collection, Hedi Slimane presents his haute parfumerie collection for maison Celine."

Dubbed “Celine Haute Parfumerie” the collection is announced to be launched very soon and will feature 11 masculine-feminine perfumes for day and night (Parade, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Dans Paris, Cologne Française, Bois Dormant, La Peau Nue, Rimbaud, Eau de Californie, Reptile, Black Tie, Nightclubbing). No further details regarding the project have been revealed. The announcement was accompanied by a video clip showing a three-part metallic mould, later followed by videos and pictures of a modernist style rectangular glass bottle designed by Hedi Slimane.

Slimane, who carved out a reputation as one of fashion’s biggest names during his tenures at Dior Homme and Saint Laurent, was named the artistic director of Celine in January 2018 and made his fashion week debut for the house in September of that year. He wasted no time in putting his indomitable stamp on the brand, revamping its logo to omit the accented ‘e’ and developing a ready-to-wear menswear line for the house.

Celine first stepped into the fragrance industry in 1964 with the release of its scent ’Vent Fou,’ but it has not released a new perfume for years. Slimane, however, has plenty of experience in that domain, having overseen the launch of Christian Dior’s first fragrances for men during his time at the house.
