Kadalys teams up with SQIN to tap into the German market

Kadalys, the eco-conscious brand of organic cosmetic products with patented active ingredients from the banana plant, which was created in 2012 by Shirley Billot, is teaming up with AI Tech company SQIN to enter the German market.

The SQIN app features recommendations on beauty products and edits a beauty magazine with vouchers and exclusive deals customized by an artificial intelligence (AI). The SQIN app helps users to find the appropriate beauty products, taking into account ingredients, personal affinities and skin analysis.

At SQIN, we can’t wait to present our users a next level beauty experience. When I met Shirley the first time and she told me about her beauty products I couldn’t believe that cosmetics could be made out of bananas leftovers. But afterwards I was amazed by this idea. Shirley is an admirable personality with a great vision,” said Maria-Liisa Bruckert, Founder and Managing Director of SQIN.

The two entrepreneurs met as part of the international Google for StartUps program, one was part of the Google For Startups Accelerator Black Founders Program, while the other was part of the Google Female Founders Immersion Program. This is where the two women decided to collaborate with the aim “to make the world of beauty more transparent, fairstainable and diverse.” For Kadalys, this means recycling byproducts from the banana industry to reduce the environmental impact of human activity. For SQIN, it is about pushing the beauty business to be more transparent, as part of their mission to offer personalized cosmetic products for everyone.
