Perfumes and cosmetics chain retailer Sephora has opened its new flagship 1,200 m2 store in Singapore. It is Sephora’s largest store in South East Asia and is located on the ground floor of the Ion Orchard shopping centre.

Sephora, a wholly owned subsidiary of French luxury group LVMH, opened its first store in Singapore (400m2) in December 2008. Sephora seeks to become a leader in selective retailing for the perfumes and cosmetics sector in Asia. Sephora opened its first store in Shanghai, China, in 2005. The retailer opened 10 stores in China during the half year, bringing the total number of Sephora stores in the country to over 60.

This opening is another step in Sephora’s successful international expansion and illustrates our desire to be a leader in emerging markets with strong growth potential. It is one of the largest of our network of 1,000 stores across the world and will become Sephora’s reference outlet in Asia,” said Jacques Levy, President of Sephora Worldwide.
