A unique recipe

All the necessary ingredients were present! Exhibitors were satisfied, visitors, were enthusiastic, a place who lived up to the event and... to the visitors, quite an affluence indeed! Quite surprising too, to see so many visitors until the last remaining hours of the show on Friday afternoon.

Words like "they were really two very professional days but in a festive atmosphere," could be heard here and there. The make-up animations of course had something to do with this success. The presence of renowned make-up schools, and the one of a number of make up artists among the most brilliant of their generation, and especially their almost uninterrupted performance during two days challenged the imagination and whetted the appetite of everyone. As a proof of this, the numerous marketing teams from the biggest cosmetic brands that were walking up and down the aisles of the show ended up by gathering around the make-up animation clusters judiciously placed in the show area.

As for the very professional atmosphere, it could be noticed immediately upon entering the show. “This was largely due to the set-up of the booths themselves, which were almost all alike (all the product and nothing but the product!),” the organisers of MakeUp in Paris insisted. With some of them looking like real small private-looking showrooms dressed in white and the other ones looking more like open spaces, where visitors in search of ideas could appreciate at a glance the offer of each exhibitor. Keeping the "showroom" appearance was an essential aspect in the strategy of companies specialized in formulations whose ultra confidential presentations mostly concerned the future.

Another strong point this year was the quality of conferences and round tables. An occasion to further broaden one’s knowledge around the theme of colours and trends, but also bove all to have available the main actors of this sector.

Conviviality

Of course, an essential and final ingredient was present like the previous year: "conviviality". Obviously members of the big make-up "family" who, in other places and circumstances, would remain fierce competitors were happy in such a special occasion to meet one another.

As for the Carrousel du Louvre, it can only be summed up in a single word: magnificent! what more could be dreamt of? At the very heart of Paris, this mythical place represents in itself what is actually the best the world around, in terms of Prestige, of Culture and of History and where MakeUp in Paris could only but write its own. An amazing place in which one willingly delves into (and it is rare enough!) with joy and where MakeUp in Paris will have sparkled with a thousand colourful points for two days in a row.

MakeUp in Paris is only in its second edition, yet perceptions of sustainability and maturity, are undoubtedly already noticeable. Its younger counterpart, will see the light September next in New York. The organisers announced that most of the ingredients mentioned above will also be present across the Atlantic. Good luck!
