InterParfums partners with Clarins in the USA

InterParfums, the French company that manufactures and markets under licence the fragrances of brands such as Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Paul Smith or Van Cleef & Arpels, and also owns Lanvin Perfumes and Nickel, a men’s skin care company, has chosen to partner with Clarins for the distribution of its products in the USA.

So far, InterParfums has been operating through the structures of Procter & Gamble, the US cosmetics giant - which holds brands such as Gucci, Hugo Boss, and Dolce & Gabbana - according to a more than ten years old partnership between the two companies. However, this deal will come to end at the end of the year and will not be renewed.

InterParfums therefore decided to take its distribution in hand and to create InterParfums Luxury Brands, a fully owned subsidiary that will lead the development and distribution of Burberry (fragrances and cosmetics), Lanvin, Montblanc and Jimmy Choo brands in the United States. However, the new organization will not have to go it alone in this adventure. Actually, Luxury Brands will have the possibility to rely on the logistics and administrative facilities of Clarins Fragrance Group US, a division of Clarins Group in the U.S. responsible for the Thierry Mugler, Azzaro, Porsche Design, David Yurman and Swarovski brands.

Luxury Brands and Clarins will share and manage an expanded sales force, and enjoy access to Clarins’ warehouse in Orangeburg, New York.

The distribution agreement is a renewable four-year deal.

Victoria’s Secret or the failure of a conservative positioning?

When the Victoria’s Secret show was cancelled it didn’t come as a surprise.
