Faber-Castell Cosmetics: packaging and formula innovations for the beauty and the soul

“Beauty And Soul” will be Faber-Castell Cosmetics’ motto for the presentation of its latest packaging and formula innovations at the next Cosmoprof trade show in Bologna. The German company will also pay homage to its mother company Faber-Castell who will celebrate its 250th anniversary.

The Faber-Castell company was founded in 1761 and from the mid 19th century developed into the world’s premier manufacturer of wood-cased pencils, both graphite and colour. The production of wood-cased pencils for the cosmetic industry was not launched before 1978, but its steadily growing in importance within the group, and today Faber-Castell Cosmetics is one of the leading global private-label cosmetic manufacturers.

Novelties showcased in Bologna will focus on three main axes: design, colour and care.

The design axe will be illustrated by:

  • Earthbound, an organic concept for eyes and lips with premium formulae based on carefully selected organic oils. These Ecocert certified organic wooden pencils feature a multi-colour sensorial decoration in trend-setting ethno design.

  • Glam Gem, a metallic eyeliner that goes on creamy and sets to a rich gem-like colour with precious shine, highly pigmented, paraben-free, D5-free, with a drum mechanical pencil.

In the colour axe, Faber Castell Cosmetics will offer “superior colour cosmetics with added features and high performance wear in convenient packaging”:

  • Sheen Spirit, a metallic liner for eyes and lips with fluid feel and high shine finish. Paraben-free. D5-free. Retractable mechanical pencil with 3 mm lead diameter for precise application.
  • Fun in the Sun, a paraben-free waterproof eyeshadow with flashy colours and natural and physical sunscreen. The product is proposed in a sharpenable PVC-free jumbo plastic barrel. A version for the lips is also proposed in 2 in 1 package with integrated SPF 25 balm and soft tip for precise contouring and outlining.

Eventually, the care axe will feature innovative formulae with highly concentrated ingredients as well as the extension of the active inside range – a balanced combination of colour and skincare with a min. amount of 20 % active ingredients:

  • Cute Cuticles, a fast acting formula to soften and nourish cuticles in a flash. With natural oils, calming organic pomegranate, vitamins E and F, free from mineral oil, preservative, and fragrance. The slanted tip is designed to shape the skin, and the pocket size applicator makes this an ideal companion on-the-go!
  • Nude Power Lipstick an Ecocert certified organic lip formula in elegant, subtle nude shades enriched with a minimum amount of 20 % active ingredients that deeply moisturize the lips. The compact size and 8 mm lead diameter makes it easy to apply.
