A new cosmetics laboratory for Bluestar Silicones

Bluestar Silicones - a subsidiary of the Bluestar Group - recently opened its new Technical Service Laboratory in its Spanish facility of Santa Perpètua (Barcelona). This laboratory will focus its activities on formulating and developing silicone products for the Personal Care industry.

“The opening of our new Technical Service Laboratory is an important step and a strong message emphasizing the importance of our Spanish facility as the Centre of Excellence Personal Care for the Bluestar Group,” indicated Grégoire Amice, Global Market Manager for Personal Care at Bluestar Silicones.

"This demonstrates our long-term commitment to our customers and distributors in this industry. This laboratory will have a key role to further extend our Mirasil silicones portfolio for the cosmetic Personal Care industry through proper coordination between all Bluestar R&D laboratories across the world. This is also a key step in the set up of Bluestar Silicones as a global supplier for the Personal Care industry combining a full range of personal care products with new capacities coming up on stream from our new units in China.

Established in 2007 after China National Bluestar Corp.’s acquisition of Rhodia Silicones, Bluestar Silicones is a €600 million worldwide silicones raw material manufacturer. The company is one of the world’s leading fully integrated global silicones manufacturers with more than 50 years of silicone expertise. Bluestar has manufacturing operations throughout the world and combines upstream silicon metal operations and capacity with downstream silicone market and application development expertise. The company offers a comprehensive range of silicone products including release coatings, engineering elastomers, healthcare products, specialty fluids, emulsions, and resins.
