Joao Carlos Basílio Da Silva, the president of the ABIHPEC, the Brazilian Toiletry, Perfumery and Cosmetic Association, estimates that the industry’s sales grew by 16% to reach US$ 13.9 billions in 2009, against 11.9 billions in 2008 (ex-factory prices, taxes not included).
