Weleda’s mature skin care range awarded in the UK

Weleda’s new Evening Primrose Age Revitalising facial care range has just received two awards in the United Kingdom. The NATRUE-certified range is formulated especially for women in their mid fifties onwards, whose skin has particular needs post-menopause.

The range is formulated to restore radiance and firmness to mature skin, to strengthen the skin’s resilience and improve elasticity. The formulations intensively moisturise, plump and firm, and help protect skin that is becoming less resilient at this age. “The oil from the evening primrose seeds contains high concentrations of essential fatty acids which play a key role in the skin’s natural barrier function. Evening primrose protects against moisture loss, smoothes dry or rough patches, and promotes cell regeneration,” claims Weleda.

The new Weleda collection includes:

  • Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Day Cream (£23.95 30ml 81% organic),
  • Night Cream (£23.95 30ml 86% organic),
  • and Eye & Lip Cream (£23.9510ml 87% organic).

Unveiled in February the facial care trio has won a Good Housekeeping ‘Reader Recommended’ Award, after the products had been put through their paces in January by GH readers aged mid fifty or older, and trialed over the period of one month. While the Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Day Cream has been awarded a ‘New for 2015’ Platinum Award by natural lifestyle guru Janey Lee Grace, in her pick of the most promising new natural launches for 2015.

In 2050 by estimation more than 1/3 of the population in the western industrialised world will be 60 years and older. The demand for pure, natural and sustainably made skincare is growing, particularly in this sector, and our new Evening Primrose collection is formulated using only authentically natural and organic plant ingredients. At Weleda we understand ageing and the needs of more mature skin as it gets older. Our new range was created for post-menopausal skin to help support the skin’s changing needs at this time, such as uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation and darker under eye circles, or skin that is becoming drier and thinner. This is not really an ‘anti-ageing’ range but one that protects and strengthens, with deeply penetrating hydration,” said Weleda’s Commercial Director Jayn Sterland.
