The famous beauty brand, which specializes in makeup, is adding another string to its bow with a new fragrance collection called "MAC Shadescents." The range can be ordered now at www.maccosmetics.com and on Macys.com and is due out December 8 in US MAC Cosmetics retail stores.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t the brand’s first fragrance line, since MAC already markets perfumes such as "Turquatic" and "Air of Style." However, the "Shadescents" collection marks a turning point, comprising six women’s scents and landing as an entire range. This suggests that the brand could be ready to further develop this previously under-exploited part of its business.

The collection is directly inspired by an iconic MAC lipstick shade. With beige, matte red, purple, pink and nude inspirations, each fragrance stands apart with its own colour and unique universe.

Each scent bears the same name as the lipstick it incarnates. The fragrances come packaged in the same intense shades and with the same general design as their lip colour counterparts.

The bright coral red "Lady Danger" lipstick is mirrored in a woody floriental scent based on wild cherry. "Ruby Woo" is a woody floral with notes of red leather, matching the intense and very matte blueish red lip shade. "My Heroine" is a woody leather scent with notes of saffron, labdanum and incense, pairing with a bright purple lipstick.

The lip-smacking "Candy Yum-Yum" is fruity scent with notes of cotton candy, matching a candy pink lipstick, and the musky honey notes of "Velvet Teddy" echo an intense beige lipstick shade. The final fragrance in the collection, "Crème d’Nude," is an amber musk matching the peachy nude lip color
of the same name.

Fragrances in the "M.A.C Shadescents" collection are priced at $US57 and lipsticks priced ar US$17.
