More than 520 people attended the opening event of the Boticário Group new factory in Bahia on Tuesday, September 16.

The annual production capacity of the new plant is up to 150 million items, expanding the group’s industrial potential by 50% - from the current 315 million items per year which, until then, were concentrated on the Pinhais factory, in the State of Paraná, to up to 465 million units per year, when cumulating the production of two industrial plants.

The new manufacturing unit features 12 lines dedicated to the production of perfumes and 9 lines for personal care products (creams, lotions and shampoos). Furthermore, the building’s architecture (about 65,000sqm - including operational, administrative spaces and utilities) was designed using a modular structure that enables to extend the site’s capacity when needed. The production capacity could thus be doubled with such increase requiring only new equipment but no additional works. The new factory’s production potential is up to 300 million items per year.

The construction of the new plant began in 2012 and its architectural design is based on international sustainability standards with the aim to get a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
