In 2013, Bologna Fiere and SoGeCos, the organisers of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna (March 7-11, 2013, in Bologna, Italy), will celebrate the 46th birthday of the world’s biggest beauty trade show, with the will to strengthen its position as the leading meeting place for international operators in the sector.

Thanks to the 175,703 attendees recorded during the four days of the 2012 event, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has cemented its role as the landmark exhibition for exhibitors from Italy and overseas, whose numbers have grown by 5%, and for the 40,000‐plus international visitors. The exhibitors, from over 70 countries, have exceeded the 2,300 threshold and five new Country Pavilions (Mexico, California, Brazil, the Netherlands and Romania) have raised the number of collectives from producer countries at the Fair to 20,” explain the organisers.

Increased investments

In order to better reach international buyers, Cosmoprof is increasing its investments in advertising and is once again organising a specific program of B2B meetings, which will focus on BRICS, the USA, the Middle East, and Europe.

A new exhibition layout has been devised for the packaging, beauty and spa, nail and hair sectors, with the aim to better exploit the fair’s two main entrances, Costituzione and Michelino.

This year Cosmoprof will once again be dedicating space and attention to key events and sectors such as:

On Hair, its hair fashion catwalk,
Esthetiring, the area dedicated to massage techniques from all over the world,
‐ Hair Ring, a selection of talents chosen by the Camera Italiana dell’Acconciatura (Italian Chamber of Hairdressing),
‐ Extraordinary Gallery, the exhibition space dedicated to niche products,

The 2013 edition will also feature some innovations such as:

Spot-On-Beauty, an initiative dedicated to first time exhibitors in the Hair, Beauty, Perfumery halls and giving them the opportunity to display their products in an area devoted to international buyers.
Beauty Avenue, a walkway running from the Piazza Costituzione entrance to the Beauty pavilions.
The Premium Perfumery, a new area for high‐end established brands and new products from around the world.

New dates for Cosmopack

Cosmopack 2013, the “show within the show” dedicated to packaging and machinery, contract and private label production, will open its doors on March 7th, one day before the whole Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, and will close on March 10th.

This decision was made with the aim of allowing packaging companies to enjoy increased visibility and to benefit from the presence of professionals from the sector attending the event,” say the organisers.

On the morning of March 7th, the first day of Cosmopack 2013, a Regulatory Technical Meeting will be organised by SoGeCos and UNIPRO. This meeting will update people from all over the world working on the new European regulation on cosmetic products.
