Despite very good and promising figures on the opening days, and a good level of satisfaction from exhibitors, the final number of visitors slightly declined compared to the previous edition: 18,300 this year and 19565 in 2007, according to the organisers. Nevertheless, the proportion of foreign visitors remains far beyond 30%, despite a strong increase last year and the unfavourable world economic context. According tothe organisers, the strongest participations came from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, the United States and Spain.

No doubt that the show’s main assets remain the Cosmeeting’s Zoom and Natural & Bio areas. Since its creation, Zoom has been helping new brands (maximum five year old) to be identified by buyers and cosmetics professionals. “Today, the organisers explain, the three Zoom sub-sections have become strategic hubs, where tomorrow’s beauty is at stake.

A new impetus is expected in 2009 withthe show moving from Paris Nord Villepinte to a downtown location: Paris’ other exhibition centre at the Porte de Versailles. Furthermore, the overall organisation of the show will be reshaped. To be held from September 13 to 16, Beyond Beauty will be articulated around three shows, Cosmeeting, Creative, European Spa Exhibition and three dedicated summits, the Natural Beauty Summit, the Cosmetic Pack Summit and the European Spa Summit.

The organisers have also announced that a new event, entirely devoted to the luxury segment, would be held in parallel to the show on September 15 and 16: the “Beauty Days in Paris”, which should gather 50 exhibiting suppliers and 1,000 visitors from the top management of high-end cosmetic and perfumery brands,
