Despite its attractive size and growth rate, from a regulatory point of view, the Chinese cosmetics market is a real nightmare for overseas exporters. Registration requirements are burdensome and lead-times have turned unpredictable.

In order to explain and clarify the latest legal requirements, China’s State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) and the Department of Health of Hong Kong SAR, in partnership with the Window Company in Hong Kong of the Ministry of Health of China, and consultancy firm SEYCO (Sino-European Yihong Consulting Co. Ltd.) are organising a conference titled: Entering the Chinese Cosmetic Market.

The event will be held in Hong Kong on November 8, 2011, at the Regal hotel on Causeway Bay. Speakers will focus on regulatory requirements but an insight on the market evolutions is also scheduled.

High-level officials from the SFDA and the AQSIQ (Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) will participate in the conference, offering not only their knowledge on the history, the current developments, and the newly updated regulations, but also on the latest perspectives regarding cosmetic products and new raw materials,” said the organisers.
